Chrome installation failed with error 0x80040154

Steps taken to resolve:

  1. Start > Run > Regedit
  2. Delete the key “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Update\Clients\{430FD4D0-B729-4F61-AA34-91526481799D}”
  3. Delete the key “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Update\ClientState\{430FD4D0-B729-4F61-AA34-91526481799D}”
  4. Reinstall Chrome
